Recently we have decided to put $48 worth of profits for the month towards our businesses sponsor child through World Vision.
Her name is Elizabeth and she is an 11 year old girl living in Chipapa, Zambia (located in Africa).
Chipapa is a rural area 130km from the Capital. The climate is tropical and 27,000 people live here. Most of the people are farmers but due to weather conditions and poor skills it is very hard to succeed. The major health related problems in the Chipapa region are malnutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and HIV/AIDs. There is a shortage of clinics and trained health staff in the region. Many families also lack access to clean water and toilets. School facilities are poor and many children (mostly girls) don't attend school because their parents don't value education. Early marriage is common also.
The program is designed to break the cycle of poverty, create long term changes and give all children the opportunity to reach their potential.
The money collected for Elizabeth goes towards her and her families healthcare, education, clean water and sanitation, nutritious foods and the ability to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
A percentage of the money you spend here at Seventh Sun Store will contribute to Elizabeth's sponsorship and will lead to our business sponsoring more and more children as we grow. Watch this spot in January 2015 as we will be sponsoring another child.
